Packaged Internet
The concept of “The Internet” is being transformed from a PC-browser experience into a multi-platform one defined by applications and internet-driven services. We can see the consumer demand for this clearly in our research with users themselves forecasting that their favourite internet access point will move towards mobile, tablet and TV devices in the near future.
This shift is radically changes our view of the Internet and extends its impact into all aspects of our lives. It also further erodes the concept of the internet as a separate entity (i.e Digital) or media type. It is nothing of the sort; the Internet will connect eventually connect everything and increasingly deliver traditional media content. There will soon be no dividing line between “time online” and “time offline”.
