Hi Chiara,
Thanks for your comment, it's always nice to have your feedback.

These data come from our Global Web Index Wave 2 survey which was run in late 2009 on a representative sample of web users.

The countries covered are: Brazil, USA, Canada, Mexico, UK, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Russia, China, India, South Korea, Japan and Australia.

The total sample size is 16000 users.

We are going to publish something more on Twitter in the next days so stay tuned on the Global Web Index!

Hi Federico,
I found your research very interesting, but can you please tell me on which base your data are? I mean, I would like to know which countries you took for your research, at what date and on which population (active web users?) especially for the graph on the Age and Education.
Plus, I would like to know more about the last graph. Again, which population did you take into consideration? Can you quantify it?

Thanks,
Chiara

Hi Karen,
The percentages are based on our sample of web users. So it means for example that 54% of Australian web users visit Facebook at least once a month.

Hi, great insights. Thanks. Can you clarify the basis for the percentages in the bar chart? For example, for India: Facebook 65% and Twitter 46%, what does the percentage reflect? Does it mean 65% of total India Facebook users are "active" Facebook users? or does it mean that 65% of India's total online population are active Facebook users? Thanks for the clarification.
